This comprehensive course provides healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding of anaphylaxis. The course consists of a 5-module PowerPoint presentation with narration, along with supporting resources including an Anaphylaxis Management Form and an additional recording form.

As well as covering the foundations of anaphylaxis, the pathophysiology , how a diagnosis is made and all the various management techniques that you will assist in, the course has content specifically related to the duties and responsibilities specific to your role in this emergency.

The modules cover the foundations of anaphylaxis, including the current guidelines, triggers, and mediation processes. The course then delves into the pathophysiology, exploring the mediators of inflammation and the four pathological processes that result in the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis.

Participants will learn how to apply this knowledge to recognise the signs of anaphylaxis, differentiating it from simple allergic reactions. The management of anaphylaxis is also thoroughly covered, including the 7-step process, necessary equipment, and special case considerations for children, pregnant patients, and cardiac arrests.

The course culminates in a series of case studies that allow healthcare professionals to explore various aspects of anaphylaxis management and its differential diagnoses, including both anaphylactic and non-anaphylactic clinical scenarios. This comprehensive program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the advanced knowledge and skills required to effectively recognise, prepare for, and support the management of anaphylaxis in their clinical practice.

What do people say about our training?

"An excellent course on anaphylaxis—comprehensive, well-presented, and combining high-quality, evidence-based information with practical real-life scenarios. I greatly appreciate the instructors' consideration of the challenges and pressures involved in the early detection and management of anaphylaxis, providing valuable tools and resources applicable across all healthcare settings. Having completed the course, I feel more confident and better equipped to identify, escalate, and assist in the management of anaphylaxis effectively. I would highly recommend this course to my colleagues."

Registered Nurse, NSW

"I loved this course. Prior to this, I didn't really understand what the doctors were thinking about or trying to manage during anaphylaxis events. I would follow their direct instructions, but I didn't feel able to anticipate what the doctor would ask for next. This course is thorough, realistic, and I learned more from it than I had from any other anaphylaxis program. I feel much more comfortable assisting during these events now because I feel like I'm a better teammate to the managing doctor than I was before."

Nuclear Medicine Technician, NSW

"As a CT Radiographer with 20 years experience I found this course very beneficial. It offers an in depth description as well as practical examples of anaphylaxis which has helped the way we manage our patients in a clinical setting.  As a result of this course, I have become more confident in assessing patients that have reactions in our department and assisting in patient care.

I would definitely recommend this course."
