Course Outline

This comprehensive course provides healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding of anaphylaxis. The course consists of a 5-module PowerPoint presentation with narration, along with supporting resources including an Anaphylaxis Management Form and an additional recording form.

The modules cover the foundations of anaphylaxis, including the current guidelines, triggers, and mediation processes. The course then delves into the pathophysiology, exploring the mediators of inflammation and the four pathological processes that result in the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis.

Participants will learn how to apply this knowledge to the diagnosis of anaphylaxis, differentiating it from simple allergic reactions and other differential diagnoses. The management of anaphylaxis is also thoroughly covered, including the 7-step process, necessary equipment, and special case considerations for children, pregnant patients, and cardiac arrests.

The course culminates in a series of case studies that allowĀ healthcare professionalsĀ to explore various aspects of anaphylaxis management and its differential diagnoses, including both anaphylactic and non-anaphylactic clinical scenarios. This comprehensive program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the advanced knowledge and skills required to effectively recognize, diagnose, and manage anaphylaxis in their clinical practice.
